REAL ESTATE PRINCIPLES & PRACTICE
60 Hours Pre-Licensing Requirement for Salespeople and Brokers

This is the foundation course for a career in real estate. Topics include an overview of the Real Estate Industry, Real Estate Law, Concepts of Home Ownership, Contracts, Property Valuation, Brokerage, Listing Agreements, Buyer Representation, Governmental Powers, License Laws, Taxes and Liens, Real Estate Mathematics, Financing and Fair Housing.

APPRAISAL I
30 Hours Broker Pre-Licensing Requirement
This course is designed to help both the new student and the established real estate agent relate appraisal theory and technique to real world practice. Explanations of the basic approaches to appraising are thorough, yet concise. Frequent examples, including use of forms and data grids, help bring an understanding of the importance of the appraisal process in real estate transactions.

BROKER PRE-LICENSING ELECTIVES

REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE
30 Hours
This course is designed to help established real estate agents know the importance of the emerging trends, management styles and establishing a business plan. It covers the different aspects of legal ownership, recruiting, selecting and hiring of staff.
This interactive course focuses on group discussion about the practical aspects of owning and operating a business including; recruiting, selecting, hiring, managing, and retaining sales and support staff..

REAL ESTATE ECONOMICS
30 Hours Pre-Licensing 6 hours CE
This course provides an introduction to the basic economic principles of Capitalism and their manifestation in the market place. The role and impact of government on economic and monetary policy and the Federal Reserve System on national, regional and local real estate markets are covered.

REAL ESTATE LAW
30 Hours Pre-Licensing 15 hours CE
This advanced course is designed to give students a general knowledge of the law. It covers the legal system in the United States and relates how that system specifically impacts real estate markets. It is intended that the student will leave the course with sufficient knowledge to adequately understand real estate laws affecting the real estate industry.
Case studies and examples that illustrate the legal concepts that affect daily real estate practice are used throughout the course. The instructor will also relate examples in the text to local laws and customs.

PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES REVISITED
30 Hours
This course is intended as a review of the key real estate concepts and math practices that will help prepare applicants for the CT real estate licensing exam. Effective study methods and test taking tips are also covered.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
30 Hours Pre-Licensing 6 hours CE
• Establishes a working knowledge of the major functions of property managers.
